Ein Gespräch mit zwei Friedensaktivisten aus Israel-Palästina Die aktuelle Eskalation der Gewalt in Israel/Palästina und die damit einhergehende zunehmende Spaltung haben viele von uns sprachlos gemacht und mit starken Gefühlen der Machtlosigkeit, Traurigkeit, Frustration, Wut und Hilflosigkeit zurückgelassen.
Gerade in dieser Zeit ist es wichtig, den Menschen zuzuhören, die noch an eine andere Realität glauben und darauf hinarbeiten: Eine Realität, die Sicherheit, Gleichheit und Gerechtigkeit für alle Menschen in Israel-Palästina beinhaltet.
Wir laden Sie ein, Rotem und Osama zu treffen, zwei Friedensaktivisten aus Israel und Palästina von „Combatants for Peace“, Freunde und Partner auf dem Weg des jeweils anderen: Sie werden mit uns ihre persönlichen Geschichten teilen und wie ihre unterschiedlichen Realitäten auf dem Land aussehen wie und was man in solchen Zeiten am meisten braucht.
Die Veranstaltung findet auf Englisch statt. Im Anschluss an den Vortrag findet eine Frage-und-Antwort-Runde statt.

* Osama Iliwat ist Vorstandsmitglied von „Combatants for Peace“ und Gründer von „Visit Palestine“. Er hat sein Leben dem Widerstand gegen die israelische Besatzung und Apartheid gewidmet und gleichzeitig bedeutungsvolle Beziehungen der Solidarität zwischen Palästinensern und Israelis aufgebaut. Er ist in der Dokumentation OBJECTOR zu sehen und spricht regelmäßig mit Organisationen auf der ganzen Welt über Friedensförderung. Er lebt in Jericho/Palästina.
* Rotem Levin ist ein Community-Organisator, ein Aktivist und von Beruf Arzt. Während seines Medizinstudiums an der Ben-Gurion-Universität verbrachte er die meiste Zeit damit, sich selbst Arabisch beizubringen und die zionistische Segregationsblase zu durchbrechen, indem er sinnvolle Beziehungen der Solidarität mit den Palästinensern aufbaute. Die meiste Zeit investiert er in die Schaffung von Räumen persönlicher und kollektiver Heilung.

The current escalation of violence in Israel/Palestine and the increasing division that accompanies it has left many of us speechless and with strong feelings of powerlessness, sadness, frustration, anger and helplessness.
Especially at this time, it is important to listen to the people who still believe in a different reality and are working towards it: A reality that includes security, equality and justice for all people in Israel-Palestine.
We invite you to meet Rotem and Osama, two peace activists from Israel and Palestine from „Combatants for Peace“, friends and partners on each other's path of change: They will share with us their personal stories, how their different realities on the land looks like and what is mostly needed in such times.
The event will be held in English. The talk will be followed by a Q&A.
Osama Iliwat is a board member of „Combatants for Peace“ and founder of „Visit Palestine“. He has dedicated his life to opposing Israeli occupation and apartheid while building meaningful relationships of solidarity between Palestinians and Israelis. He is featured in the documentary OBJECTOR and regularly speaks about peace-building with organizations across the world. He lives in Jericho/Palestine.
Rotem Levin is a community organizer, an activist, and MD by profession. During his medical studies in the Ben Gurion university, he dedicated most of his time to teach himself Arabic and breakthrough the Zionist segregated bubble by making meaningful relationships of solidarity with Palestinians. He invests most of his time in helping to create spaces of personal and collective healing.
