HORS-SÉRIE

HORS-SÉRIE is an exhibition project, curated by Eduarda Neves, presented in several art spaces, in which the artists work on a site-specifcity basis, taking the exhibition context in consideration. It simultaneously approaches the polysemic character of the notion HORS_SÉRIE, opening it to its several meanings that have to do with identity, simulacra, potency, subversion, resistance, workforce, along with other concepts. HORS-SÉRIE seeks to establish a dialogue between the felds of art, philosophy and politics.
The curatorial project that seeks to explore the polysemic character of this notion, namely in three axes: (I) departing from Deleuzian references, through an understanding of the Identity of the Different as primary potency; (II) reflecting upon the specific resistance of infamous men’s life, according to Michel Foucault’s designation; (III) considering the image of unemployment and the moment of stopping in the serial work, thereby evoking improductiveness as a possibility of resistance.
Das Ausstellungsprojekt, kuratiert Eduarda Neves, findet in verschiedenen, internationalen, zeitgenössischen Kunsträumen statt. Die Künstler_Innen arbeiten dabei ortsspezifisch und umkreisen dabei den vieldeutigen Begriff von "HORS-SÉRIE", das französische Wort kann mit "aussergewöhnlich" , oder "Sonderausgabe" übersetzt werden, bzw. getrennt behandelt mit "hors" als "ausser" und "série" als Serie/Reihe. Die Ausstellung möchte dabei mit Vorstellungen von Identität, Simulacra, Potenz, Subversion, Widerstand und Arbeitskraft verhandeln und strebt an, einen Dialog zwischen Kunst, Philosophie und Politik zu etablieren.
Das Projekt orientiert sich dabei an drei Achsen: (I) Abkehr von deleuzianischen Referenzen durch ein Verständnis der Identität des Anderen als primäre Potenz; (II) Nachdenken über den spezifischen Widerstand des berüchtigten "mens´s life", nach Michel Foucaults Bezeichnung; (III) unter Berücksichtigung der Vorstellung von Arbeitslosigkeit und des Moments des Anhaltens in der seriellen Arbeit, wodurch Unproduktivität als eine Möglichkeit des Widerstands hervorgerufen wird.
Im Rahmen des Internationalen Treffens EINEN SCHWEREN SCHLAG ÜBER DIE FINGER werden eine Reihe von Fragen behandelt, die das kuratorische Programm überschneiden. Es erscheint ein Katalog auf Portugisisch und Englisch.
HORS-SÉRIE constitui um projecto curatorial que se propõe explorar o carácter polissémico desta noção, concretamente em três eixos: (I) partir do pensamento Deleuziano, entendendo a Identidade do Diferente como potência primeira; (II) pensar a resistência singular da vida dos homens infames, como os designou Michel Foucault; (III) considerar a imagem do desemprego e o momento de paragem no processo do trabalho em série, assim evocando a improdutividade como possibilidade de resistência.
O projecto expositivo, apresentado em vários espaços artísticos internacionais, será objecto de um catálogo bilingue (PT e EN). No âmbito do Encontro Internacional UM GOLPE DE VARA BEM FORTE NOS DEDOS, será debatido um conjunto de questões transversais ao programa curatorial.
